It depends on your level, how you’re training, and what class tree you pick. You need to be more specific.

im goin w/ jeager on this 1…there are many different things u can do. what i did cuz i have a 70 troll sham is i just leeveld my spells and bought staffs from the auction house. i used alot of spells. shams are big spellcasters worry more about that than staffs.

if you spec into elemental or resto you wont be using a weapon much, just get what has the best stats.
if you are going Ehancement get a good mace.

I use a mace and shield, even though I’m resto-specced. It helps me when soloing, and I can always swap out for a higher-stat staff when I’m serving as a healer.
Learn them all (there aren’t many for a shaman) and level them up equally. You’ll find all kinds of good weapons as you level, and it will depend on your spec and how you play.

If you want just a basic answer then I would have to say One-Handed Mace to start with. Then train up.
